"Notoriously playful pianist Mathias Landæus has released over a dozen albums as a leader. He lived in New York in the 1990's, where he studied with Jaki Byard and Richie Beirach, among others. After returning to Sweden he became an important figure on the Stockholm jazz scene. In addition to his inspiring work as a composer and musician, he has had a crucial role in building community by starting live scenes like the influential Glenn Miller Café in Stockholm, and more recently the club Underground in southern Sweden. His lyrical touch and original quirky style have earned him a reputation as one of the most exciting pianists in Sweden." - www.landaeus.com
Omisskännlig klurighet
Med omisskännlig klurighet och kompromisslöst sväng tar sig Mathias Landæus Trio an några av de mest kända svenska jullåtarna på sitt eget vis. Det är både vackert och röjigt, precis som julen brukar vara. Trion består av Mathias själv på piano, Johnny Åman som spelar bas och Cornelia Nilsson som spelar trummor. Det är personligt och välspelat och att musikerna tycker om att spela tillsammans framgår med all önskvärd tydlighet.
